to begin with a definitions of the word Christian.
a : one who professes belief in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
this is a good way to put it. we are Christian solely because of Jesus Christ, and his sacrifice. the church states our beliefs in the apostles creed. these words have survived from the beginning of the church in the first year AD (and yes for the record AD does stand for after death, who's death? Jesus death.) here is the apostles creed.
this is the foundation of the entire Christian faith. any so called "Christian denomination" who rejects the apostle's creed is not so.
we will further dissect the creed in later posts, but at the moment lets just focus on the beginning. we confess to believe in God the father, and that he is the soul creator of everything. without him there would be nothing, and with him there is everything (if you want to know more about the creation read Genesis.)
